Nearly all boiler installations will be completed within a day. We will arrive early in the morning and usually be completed by 6pm. If we think this is not possible we will let you know as part of your survey.
Typically a full central heating system will take 3-4 days to install. We will no more precisely after we survey your home and a lot will depend on your decision about where to locate radiators and the ease of access where we run your pipework.
It depends!
It is often uneconomical to repair older boilers as replacement parts are hard to find and expensive to fit. Therefore as a general rule we would suggest that boilers over 10 years old are replaced rather than repaired.
However some faults on older boilers can be repaired quickly with standard parts.
Our gas safe engineers can quickly determine the cause of a fault and the cost to repair it. If it is not economical to repair your boiler we can credit the cost associated with your call out against a new boiler that we fit for you.
Remember that a brand new boiler is usually much more efficient and reliable. It will also be covered by a warranty, so if it breaks the manufacturer will repair it with no extra charge.
A combi boiler is both an efficient water heater and a central heating boiler combined (hence the name) within one compact unit.
Combi boilers are efficient and reduce the cost of heating bills because they only heat water when you need it, rather than storing hot water up, even when you don’t need it.
Most homes in the UK with central heating have combi boilers.
Large national installers typically charge £2,500 to £5,000 for the supply and installation of a new combi boiler and flue.
AG Fraser supply and fit the same A-rated boiler, flue, thermostat by a Gas Safe registered engineer from only £1,695 or as little as £10.96 per month 9.9% APR.
We can install all types of domestic boilers including Gas, LPG and oil.
Apart from the make and model of your chosen boiler, a number of factors will impact the cost of your new boiler installation. These factors will include:
Because of these many factors, we would always recommend that you get someone to survey your home, before agreeing to a quote. Many online companies will offer you a price without understanding your needs and then change their quote after they start the work.
We will never offer a fixed price quote without first inspecting your home and understanding your needs.
A survey will take approximately one hour and we will call ahead to make sure you know we are on the way.
We will assess all the factors that may influence your quotation, discuss how you would like to pay for the boiler and answer any questions that you may have about the installation.
We will send you a fixed price quote out within 24 hours of the survey, but usually you will get it the same day.
All we ask is that you give us as much notice as possible and accept that if the cancellation is very near to the installation date then it may be necessary for us to apply a small cancellation charge.
Yes. We will need you to clear away any clutter around your boiler or on work surfaces underneath your boiler. We will discuss this with you during your survey.
All of our installers are experienced Gas Safe certified engineers who take pride in the quality of their work.
We will usually be able to isolate the services near to where we are working which means that you will have uninterrupted supply during most of our installation time.
No. You do not need to be present for most of the work although we request that you are available for an hour at the start and the end of the installation. This allows us to discuss the installation in a little more detail and after the installation allows us to show you how to get the most from your new boiler.
Nearly all boiler installations will be completed within a day. We will arrive early in the morning and usually be completed by 6pm. If we think this is not possible we will let you know as part of your survey
Generally not. Our engineers take pride in their work and will make sure that surfaces are protected and the area they're working on is always clean and tidy when they leave.
However if we are moving the location of your boiler, then depending on how pipework is routed, some making good may have to be done after we leave. We will always try to spell this out as part of our survey.
Yes. We will always take away your old boiler unless you tell us not to. If you don't want us to remove your old boiler, let your installer know on the day of installation.
Typically a full central heating system will take 3-4 days to install. We will know more precisely after we survey your home and a lot will depend on your decision about where to locate radiators and the ease of access in areas where we run your pipework.
Installing a new central heating system is a major upgrade to your home. It will often involve moving furniture, lifting carpets and raising floor boards.
We will endeavor to do this as quickly as possible to minimize disruption to your home. We will also clean-up afterwards HOWEVER it is very likely that some making good will be required by other trades after we have left (such as re-installing new laminate floors, stretching carpets, plaster patching).
We can be more explicit as part of our survey but we would rather be honest with a customer up front than for them to be upset after we have fitted the central heating. If any Plumber or installation company claims they can install a central heating without significant disruption and mess to your home, we suggest you tread with caution!
Every new boiler will have a minimum warranty of 5 years. Many boilers will have a warranty of up to 10 years depending on the make and model of boiler you choose.
In order to ensure your boiler warranty remains valid you must service your boiler at least once per year.
Your service can either be done by the boiler manufacturer or us.
Your warranty covers everything that AG Fraser has supplied and installed for you. That usually means the boiler, flue and any attachments. It covers both parts and labour.
Firstly make sure that the fault does not relate to an error in how it is being used. Many common boiler failures relate to issues that can easily be resolved with minimum knowledge. We have listed these in the help and advice section of our website.
If you are unable to resolve the issue, please get in touch with your boiler manufacturer and they'll send an engineer out as soon as possible.
